Thomas Charles Rose, 63, of Gloversville, died peacefully in his sleep on March 26, 2015. He was the son of the late Anthony and Helene M. Rose. Tom attended Johnstown schools and graduated from The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Connecticut in 1970. He earned a bachelor's degree in business from Siena College. Tom was vice-president and sales manager of Rose, Buick, Pontiac, GMC, Inc. for nearly 40 years. He was dedicated to his family business which was begun by his father in 1949. Tom was also a generous supporter of this community, specifically the Nathan Littauer Foundation, Lexington Foundation, the YMCA and was a Patron of SPAC for many years. He was an avid golfer and New York Giants fan. He loved riding his Harley and spending summer afternoons at Saratoga Race Track. His zest for life and the energy of his spirit will never be forgotten by those who knew him. Tom is survived by his wife, Deborah Hathaway who he married in 1985; his two daughters, who he loved very much, Briar Hathaway Rose Frontale (Nick) of Gloversville and Abigail Wallin Rose of Pompano Beach, FL and his granddaughter, Aurora Rose-DiMarco. He is also survived by a sister, Susan R. Zambella of Mayfield and a brother, Allan A. Rose (Darlene) of Johnstown. His nephews are AJ Zambella, Adrien Zambella, Tommy Rose and Evan Rose. Tom was especially grateful to his dear friend Mike Anadio for all his support. The family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 28th at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a service of remembrance will take place at 12:00 noon Sunday. Interment will take place later in the springtime at Johnstown Cemetery, when Tom will be carried to the grave by AJ Zambella, Adrien Zambella, Michael Zambella, Michael DelCostello, Ed Klena, Jim Klena, Tim White and Michael Anadio. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd; Albany, NY 12205 or to the Lexington Foundation, 465 North Perry St; Johnstown, NY 12095 or to the charity of your choice.
