Thomas A. Ross, age 87, of Venice, Florida, passed away on August 1, 2017. He was born on April 27, 1930 in New York, New York. He retired from the Nassau County Police Department in Long Island, New York after 21 years of service and retired from the U.S. Navy after 32 years of service. Thomas is survived by his wife of 48 years, Virginia; three children, Kenneth, Michael and Patricia; a brother, Robert and eight grandchildren. A visitation will be held at Farley Funeral Home in Venice on Monday, August 7, 2017 from 11:00am-12:30pm with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at Epiphany Cathedral at 1:00PM. Entombment will be held at Gulf Pines Memorial Park in Englewood. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3277 Fruitville Road, #1A, Sarasota, Florida 34237. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements.
