Thomas Edward Russo

Thomas (Tom) Russo, age 62 of Gilbert, AZ died peacefully at his home, Monday, March 14, 2016 after a difficult battle with cancer. He was born on March 31, 1953 in Queens, NY to the late Carmine and Mary Russo. Tom left New York for Arizona State University and fell in love with the area which has been his home ever since. He along with his business partner, Ken Fenolio, have been pioneers in the construction industry for over 30 years and Tom never tiered of showing off the public and private buildings their company, Division nine, helped to create or embellish. He proudly served as President of the Arizona Wall and Ceiling Association for a number of years. His hobbies were addressed with the same passion as his work. He enjoyed fly fishing, golf, kayaking and assisting with his son"s moto-cross bicycle racing. But most of all he enjoyed time spent with family and friends whether at home of anywhere the group met. Tom will be sadly missed by his daughter Antonia ; son Niccolo; step daughter Shana Shaw; grandchildren Isabella, Kinsey and Timothy; brothers: Gerard (Francoise) Russo and Angelo (Naoma) Russo; sister Mary Ann (Dennis) Wepfer; long time friend Pam Ellis and his many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends and colleagues too numerous to mention. He was preceded in death by his brother Lawrence Russo and sister Catherine (Michael) Amoia. Funeral services will be held at St Anne"s Catholic Church, 440 E Elliot Rd, Gilbert at 10:00 am on Friday, March 18, 2016. A celebration of Tom"s life will follow at 12:00 noon at the Doubletree Hotel, 1800 San Tan Village, Gilbert. Flowers are welcome but a more long lasting remembrance would be a donation in his name to the Banner Health Foundation, Lung Cancer Division at Banner MD Anderson to help fight this terrible disease.
