Thomas A. St. John, 73, of Linden Court, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 26, 2015 at his home. Born January 9, 1942, in Amsterdam, New York, he was the son of the late Anthony and Margaret Fasulo St. John. He was a lifelong resident and graduated from St. Mary's School of the Deaf in Buffalo. Tom was first employed as a printer for the San Francisco Chronicle and later for the Albany Times Union for a number of years. Tom was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel church in Amsterdam. He also was a member of the Albany Deaf Club. He liked taking walks and spending time with his family and at one time he enjoyed fishing, watching baseball and was a Cleveland Indians fan. He also enjoyed going to the Fonda Speedway and his special memories were of his vacations to Jamaica. Survivors include his loving family, two brothers Michael A. St. John (RoseAnne) of Amsterdam and Frank R. St. John (Carolyn) of Princetown, NY; a sister, Phyllis Van Patten of Rotterdam; a nephew Michael J. St. John, Jr. and a niece Margaret Mikruta (Justin). Private funeral services and calling hours will be held at the convenience of the family at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with the Rev. Pascal Iannotti officiating. Burial will take place in St. Michael's Cemetery in Amsterdam. Memorial contributions may be made in Tom's memory to St. Mary's School of Deaf, 2253 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14214.
