WOOD, Thomas Albert beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away May 6, 2017 in Tucson, Arizona. He was born September 3, 1927 in Bisbee, Arizona, the son of John Henry and Marie Lahey Wood. He had one older sister, Mary Frazier; four older brothers, James, John, Earl, Carl and two younger brothers, Paul and William. After World War II Tom moved to Tucson. He and his brother, Carl started Wood Brothers Lumber Company, a business Tom ran until 1984. In 1949, Tom met and married the love of his life, Joan Kane of Patagonia, Arizona. They spent 65 exceptionally happy years together until her death in 2015. They had five children and formed close ties with friends they met at St. Joseph's parish, Salpointe High School, the Fountains, and Broadway Proper. Tom is survived by son, James (Teresa) Wood; daughters, Suzi (Dan) Deurloo, Ann (Alex) Weatherbie and Jeannie (Matt) Medina; 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by wife, Joan; their daughter, Theresa who died in infancy, Tom's parents, and all his siblings. A celebration of Tom's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Lodge Hall of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), 3445 N. Dodge Boulevard, Tucson.
