Thor Rodney Thomsen

Thor Thomsen, age 56, of Gilbert, Arizona, died from pancreatic cancer on October 21, 2023. He loved travel, family, and adventure and enjoyed his work helping others through the safety and transportation industry. Thor was born to Paul and Helga Thomsen then adopted and lovingly raised by Julie Thomsen after Helga’s death. Thor attended Taylor University and served in the Marine Corps in the 1st Force Reconnaissance Division from 1990 to 1994 including Operation Desert Storm. Visitation will be held at the Falconer Funeral Home in Gilbert, Arizona at 10 a.m. on November 4th. A memorial service for Thor will be held at 2 pm on November 4th at New Valley Church in Chandler, Arizona. Thor was married to Kristen Thomsen, and is survived by her and his daughter, Audrey (Jacob) Mitten-Thomsen as well as siblings Bjorn (Lisa) Thomsen, Tom (Heidi) Thimm, Paula (Gerald) Marsland. Thor was preceded in death by his son Per Thomsen, his father Paul Thomsen, and siblings Kirsten Miller, Heidi Salsieder, and Robert Thomsen During his tours in the Marine Corps, work travels, mission trips, and family vacations, Thor journeyed through much of the world. He brought a sense of adventure and excitement to the lives of those around him. He appreciated learning about the world and took great pleasure hearing the stories of anyone he met.
