February 3rd, 1952 - June 27th, 2024
Timothy Orlando Jones, age 72, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on June 27, 2024. He was born in Richmond, Virginia, on February 3, 1952. Timothy spent his childhood moving frequently due to his father’s military service before settling in Arizona with his family in 1966. He graduated from Buena High School in Sierra Vista, Arizona, and later attended Cochise College, where he participated in AFROTC and earned an associate degree in art.
Timothy served in the United States Navy from 1975 to 1988, stationed in San Diego and traveling to various ports, including deployments to the Middle East. Following his military service, he continued his “Travels” as an over-the-road truck driver.
Timothy was not only an adventurer but also a talented artist, with a special love for music. He enjoyed playing the harmonica and keyboard and was known among friends for his skill in chess, dominoes, and cards.
Timothy was preceded in death by his parents, William and Gwelda Jones, and his sister, Denise Regina Jones. He is survived by his siblings: Gwelda Adkins (Eugene) of Brandon, Florida; Tiana Richard (Lionel) of Tucson, Arizona; and Brian Jones (Alice) of the Philippines. Timothy is also survived by his sons, Omar N. Jones of Tucson, Arizona, Tavares and Terence Perkins of San Diego, California, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
