TIMOTHY WILLIAM MADDEN 1953 - 2011 Timothy Madden, age 58, moved on to be with the Lord on Wednesday April 20, 2011. Tim was born in San Francisco on January 9, 1953 and grew up in Monterey, California. As a youth, he was involved in several scouting programs. He attended York, Monterey High School, Monterey Peninsula College and became a Certified Emergency Medical Technician. He met the love of his life, Joan, in 1969. They married in August 1972 and enjoyed 38 years together. Tim worked for A-1 Ambulance Company, the Madden Company, and started his own computer company, Professional Computer Services. He then went to work for Monterey County IT for the past 16 years and achieved the title of Systems Programmer Analyst II. Tim spent many hours volunteering for Kiwanis Club, Boy Scouts and White Stag. He used his EMT training and HAM radio skills to benefit numerous other organizations. In 1987 he received the Special Olympics Volunteer of the Year award, and in 1995 he received the Silver Stag Award. Tim had a smile which brightened every room he entered, and was always there to lend a helping hand. He loved the outdoors and took many hiking journeys. He was an avid photographer, a Rock-n-Roll enthusiast, wrote poetry, and was highly involved with his church and Cursillo Servant Community. Tim is survived by his wife Joan, daughter Christina (and Jeffrey), son William (and Josina), grandchildren Timothy, Justin and Elinor, and sister Kathleen. He was preceded in death by parents Al and Elinor Madden and brother Michael. A celebration of his life will be held at St. Mary’s-By-The-Sea Episcopal Church, Pacific Grove on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM. Please send any donations in Tim’s memory to American Red Cross, White Stag Leadership Development Academy Inc. (PO Box 4727, Carmel, CA 93921), or your favorite charity.

Healey Mortuary

At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
