Timothy Robert Nugent

TIMOTHY ROBERT NUGENT 1948-2019 Timothy Robert Nugent of Henderson Nevada was born on March 10th, 1948 and left this earth on December 13, 2019. Tim was born in Ventura County California, where he went to grammar and high school until he decided to join the United States Army at age seventeen. Tim never looked back from that decision and spent the next twenty four years of his life in the service of his Country. During his years of military service, Tim obtained a GED and then went on to earn a Bachelor's degree and finally a Master's Degree in Business Administration. At the time of Tim's retirement from the Army, he had achieved the distinguished rank of Sergeant Major. It was Tim's loving 47-year partnership with his wife Chun Yen which made it possible for him to achieve his career goals throughout his years of military service. It was also during these years that their daughters Victoria and Jacqueline were born. In 2015, Tim's first and only grandchild, Vivien, joined the family and proceeded without hesitation to win the heart of her beloved Agong. After retiring from the Army, Tim's next period of public service began in 1989, when he joined the staff of El Paso Community College as an Employment Services Coordinator. At the time of his retirement from EPCC in 2009, Tim was the Vice-president of Student Services. After retiring from EPCC, Tim and Chun Yen decided to spend their retirement years in the City of Henderson, Nevada, a suburb of nearby Las Vegas. The new home they chose was (not surprisingly to those who knew Tim) situated adjacent to and overlooking the 10th hole of the community golf course. In spite of his many achievements, Tim was above all a person of integrity, and one who never pushed himself forward, choosing instead to acknowledge the achievements of others. And he was a husband, father and grandfather extraordinaire. Tim Nugent was a singular man of many and diverse accomplishments, not the least of which is that he was and will remain loved by so many. The family has requested that any flowers ordered be sent to the Nugent home, instead of the cemetery.
