Timothy Wilson Rogers

Timothy Wilson Rogers passed away on June 6, 2021 in Albuquerque, NM. Born on September 20, 1950 in Heidelberg, Germany, he graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy, where he was honored with a Humanitarian Service Medal. He was a painter, a gardener, and a B-movie enthusiast. Tim was the brother who could be counted on to jump from the roof into the pool, when dared. He approached fatherhood with gentleness, creativity, and respect. Tim’s quick wit and unique sense of humor were unfailing until the end. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Stella and Col. Ralph Rogers; his brother, Samuel Rogers; and his sisters-in-law, Vera “Joie” Rogers and Sharon Burton. He is survived by his three children, Shannon Rogers (Adam), Sarah Moreno (Matthew), and Matthew Rogers; his three brothers, Stephen, Jeffrey (Linda), and Christopher Rogers; his niece, Summer Rogers; his nephews, Joshua (Christine) and Daniel (Elena) Rogers; his grandnieces, Marielena and Emilia; his grandnephews, Kai and James; and his granddaughter, Lilah Wren Moreno. A graveside service will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on July 13th at 10:30 am, followed by a memorial luncheon in celebration of Tim’s life at SITE Santa Fe: 1606 Paseo de Peralta Santa Fe, NM 87501. Donations to honor Tim’s memory may be sent to the Albuquerque-based organization Working Classroom, which cultivates the artistic, civic, and academic minds of youth through in-depth art projects.
