Timothy Francis Wittstock was born on 28 August 1951 and passed away on 9 July 2024. Tim was the seventh of eleven children; being an odd number (7th child) of an even larger odd number (11 children) which in an odd family is most appropriate. He was also a subset of the “Three Little Boys” who followed the “Four Big Kids,” and preceded the four that came later, “The After Thoughts.”

Tim started his life in the great city of Spokane, WA, where he spent his days being known as “Wheat” and playing and fighting with the other “Little Boys.” At the ripe age of four, the siblings packed their bags and headed to Annapolis, WA, where he continued his mischief until the family decided to relocate to Greeley, CO, when Tim was eleven. Once the family landed in Greeley, he and the Little Boys spent their days breaking all the neighbors’ windows and running from the Law and their father; still not sure which one had more authority. After spending some years with the Nuns, he went on to Greeley Central High School, somehow surviving a rope fall fracturing his skull and arm and graduating by the skin of his teeth in 1969. Tim went on to become a field operator for his career and spent over thirty years with DCP, retiring in January of 2020 right before the world got sequestered indoors.

Around the age of 37, Tim decided to go out one night at Fort Ram and rock and rolled his way into the heart of a young lady named Kara Heckman. Soon Tim and Kara were dating and married a year later on the sweltering day of August 8, 1987, in the chapel at Colorado State University. Kara and Tim started out their life together in Fort Collins, CO and eventually moved to a 2.5 acre ranch in Windsor, CO, where Tim enjoyed taking care of his Koi fish in their pond and spent his leisurely time swimming in the pool with Kara. In the early days, Tim enjoyed playing darts at his local sports bars, playing rounds of golf and boating on Horsetooth Reservoir and Boyd Lake. In his later years, he enjoyed yard work, maintaining his Koi pond and the pool and spending time with his dogs. Tim was an avid Broncos fan and spent a few years enjoying the fruits of their victories, the rest of the time begrudging the losses the Broncos often earn. Tim’s health declined in the last few years of his life due to Parkinson’s and dementia and he peacefully passed at the beautiful Fort Collins facility, Pathways Hospice.

Tim is survived by his wife, Kara Wittstock, his four brothers, James Wittstock (Sharon), Richard Wittstock (Chris), Steven Wittstock (Roberta), Joseph Wittstock, his four sisters Michelle Blake (Kenneth, passed), Elizabeth Louise Smith (Terry), Mary Kay Tiemann (John, passed), and Teresa Billiet. Tim is also survived by sixteen nieces and nephews. Tim is preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Kenneth Wittstock, his brother Michael Wittstock and sister, Patricia Anderson. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to his brother, James for his Irish Whiskey fund or Animal Friends Alliance, https://www.savinganimalstoday.org/ of you wish to follow Tim’s last request. A celebration of life will be held on October 10, 2024, at 2pm at the Wittstock Ranch, 2338 Journey Lane, Fort Collins, CO 80524, Kara welcomes family and friends to join the celebration.
