Tina Marlene Huff Hook December 6, 1949 ~ December 20, 2016 We don't want the story of Tina's life to be a sad one. She would want us all to come together today to celebrate her life. She always loved to celebrate with family and friends. She was born Tina Marlene Huff on December 6,1949 at Henry County Hospital, New Castle,Indiana, to Ferne and Darrell Huff. She was a month early and only weighed 4 pounds 11ounces. She took her first road trip when she was only 20 days old from Indiana to California. Her grandpa Alonzo died in California on December 26,1949 so her mom and dad packed her up in their car and headed to California for his funeral. She slept in her dad's shoe box during the trip. When Tina was 10 months old, she made her second road trip to California. This time to live and she was bigger than her Dad's shoe box. Tina grew up in a house on Garrow Drive, Antioch, CA with her two sisters, Leah and Joyce. When Tina was 5 she started Belshaw Elementary School around the corner from her home. Tina then went to Park Middle School and Antioch High School. Tina married Don Magana, her high school sweetheart in 1967. Tina and Don had three children, Jamie Renee, Traci Reanne and Don Anthony James (Donnie). Their first child Jamie, was born with a hole in her heart. But that didn't stop her from capturing the hearts of us all! Tina and Don had an amazing 2 and half years with Jamie before she passed away after open heart surgery. Tina was pregnant with Traci at that time so fortunately a small part of Jamie was still with them as Jamie had wanted a sister. A few years later Donnie was born to round out their family. Tina's joys in life were raising daughter Traci and son Donnie. She loved watching her children grow up and have families of their own. Tina adored her six grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas, Rhyan, Ava, Joshua (Bud) and Donnie Jr. or little dude as they are affectionately called. Tina and Don's high school romance ended after 22 years of marriage. After the divorce Tina went back to school to become a manicurist. As you all know Tina loved to dress up, have her hair and nails done. So making others feel pretty made her happy. Years later, Tina went to a New Year's Eve party and met and fell in love with Robert (Bob) Hook. Bob and Tina were happily married also for 22 years. Bob joined Tina in attending the Mormon Church and soon after Bob joined the Mormon church himself. They were married and sealed to each other for eternity in the Mormon Temple on July 14, 2001.Tina lost Bob two years ago on New Year's Day to cancer. Tina and Bob made their home on Madoline Street in Pittsburg, liked visiting their place at R Ranch and their time share in Lake Tahoe. Sushi was her most recent favorite food. Tina's life was filled with love of her family. Tina had amazing big heart and was kind to everyone she met. Tina was a loving sister, mother, nana and friend. Tina was also an amazingcook and could make a wonderful meal for two or for a crowd on a minutes notice. She loved to create jewelry for friends and family Tina passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the home of her daughter Traci. Now Iwould like to share some favorite memories of Tina from her family From Her Aunt Aunt Helen.- My favorite memory was when we went shopping, we would look at clothes at different sides of the rack and one of us would pull clothes of one side of the rack and would say I love this one, it Would be.the same item but only in a different size from what the other one was looking at. We always got a big laugh out of it. That is the first:that either of us knew we liked the same things. It was always a lot of fun being with Tina, From Her Sisters: Leah - my favorite memory of my sister is her love of life and living it to fullest. Even in her later years with all her medical challenges she would always get up, brush herself off and keep on living her life to the fullest it could be! I love you my big sister! Joyce - my favorite memory of my sister is how she taught me to style my hair and shave my legs as a teenager. Thank you sister for teaching me the many girly things I needed to know to be cool like you. I also remember her always being in the kitchen with Dad and our Aunt Bessie cooking. It paid off as she was an amazing cook! I love and miss you sister! From Her Children: Donnie- Has so many memories of his mom; many of them are about spending a lot of time in the kitchen she taught him everything thing he knows about cooking. He says 'I thank her and always will thank her for that. I also can't stop picturing her at little dude's birthday jumping and having fun in the big jumpy house we had there. Watching the videos and looking at the pictures of her having that much fun was and always will be priceless!!! Me and my family love you and thank you and will miss you so much mom!! Tracey- My most cherished memory will always be holding her hand, and seeing her big smile as she left her earthly life and entered into her eternal life. My most favorite memories would be how well she cooked and fed the masses, our home was always full of family, friends and food. She taught me to make tamales, chilliquellas and many other dishes. She was always there to confide in all my life and always try to see the best in others or at least overlook their faults and love them any way. Tracey's husband, Josh adds his memory of going to the R Ranch and out to restaurants and helping her around the house with projects. From Her Niece:. Michelle Dean - My favorite memory is watching her cook at a young age and eating what she made. I always like to watch her make chili rejellnos while Donnie and I played hot wheels on her brick fire place. I always viewed her as such a strong woman that always wanted to behave in front of her. I also remember her hiding frozen snickers bars in the freezer when we were kids. From Her Grandchildren: Bud- eating breakfast with Nana at Quail Lodge and playing in her back yard in Pittsburg. Ava's favorite memory was last year, Ava's most wanted gift was the Easy Bake- Ultimate Oven. Nana got her one and Ava made her cookies. Also, making jewelry together, spending the night and doing activities with, her at Quaii Lodge and Cypress Meadows. Nick - My favorites of memory with Nana is when I'd get hungry she would always walk with us out to the shed and let us pick our favorite TV dinners. I also loved her rubbing our back until we would fa.ll asleep. I also remember watching soap operas with her in her room, taking care of her and talking about poppa Bob and poppa Don and how much she loved them. Ryan- I would pass out sleeping in of those big chairs while she rubbed our heads and a of her amazing cooking and us going to her house after elementary school. She always had every TV dinner we wanted and would watch cartoons with us. And finally her oldest grandson Anthony - my grandmother was an incredible woman who touched the lives of everyone she met. She was always smiling, loving and caring from the last moment saw her until the. very end. Some of my fondest memories I replay in my mind are from my childhood, My grandmother watched and cared for us while my mother and father worked. She would make sure we were always fed, always mad sure we had plenty of toys to play with and spent all her time loving her family like no other. I remember my talks and car rides home from school every day, our trips to the grocery store, always being excited to just be at her house because she spoiled me and my brothers rotten. A specific hilarious (not at the time of course) and painful memory was when I was playing near the cactus patch she had at her house in Pittsburg and I slipped and fell into it. I was covered with needles and my nana was there to pull them out for me, l don't know why that memory comes to mind so often when I think of her but I am convinced it was just one of those moments that showed her dedication and love for us. I'll miss my grandmother dearly but I am so incredibly happy she is away from pain and sickness. I'll carry her inside my heart forever and one day whenever that may be I hope to see her again and give her a big hug and kiss. I love you nana.
