Todd Michael Kelly

Obituary Todd Kelly, 64, of Wellington, passed away on December 20, 2019 at his home after suffering a heart attack. Todd was born October 26, 1955 in Boulder to Jack and Charlene Kelly. Todd moved to Fort Collins with his family from Wheatridge, CO in 1962. While at Poudre High School, Todd excelled in gymnastics. He spent many weekends and holidays skiing at Hidden Valley Ski Area, where he later became an instructor. While at the University of Colorado, Todd majored in Classics. He was proud to be a "Buff" cheerleader while at CU. Todd was proficient in skiing, sailing, kayaking, and generally anything that involved being outdoors. In 1990 he married Mary Roley, in Fort Collins. They made their home in Oak Creek, CO and Twenty Nine Palms, CA where Todd taught Social Studies and English. He also was a weight coach. Upon retirement, Mary and Todd returned to the Fort Collins area and lived in Wellington. Todd enjoyed writing young adult science fiction and short stories. He was a ghost writer and editor. Survivors include his wife Mary, mother Char Kelly, brothers Terry (Christine) Kelly of New Zealand and Randy (Sue) Kelly of Broomfield, CO, and sister Kathy (Mike) Graves of Fort Collins. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Kelly. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date, when the weather allows for an outdoor celebration of his incredible life.
