Todd Darral Porter lived his life with a passion for people and nature. His final adventure here was summiting the Palisades range in the Eastern Sierras. This completed his goal of summiting all of the 14,000 foot peaks in California. He lived with FOMO which meant if there was an adventure to be had, he would pursue it with zeal. He encouraged countless friends and family to join him in these pursuits. Friend: "Are we there yet?" Todd: "Its just around that bend." Upon reaching that bend, he would stop to put a reptile, insect or any creature on his face for a quick selfie. #WOTF As great as his love was for the outdoors, it didnt surpass his love for people. If he knew you, you were his friend. Its no surprise that his wife, Heather, was immediately smitten when they met at CSU, Chico. He loved his children- Summer, Dallin and Grace with a fierce passion that sometimes led to too much picture taking. And if he wasnt in nature, he was probably refueling for the next adventure with Taco Bell, ice cream, cookies and green smoothies. If he saw an opportunity to serve, he took it. If he saw a new face on the trail or at church, he introduced himself. These are just a few examples of his exuberance, compassion and generosity. He influence will continue to inspire us for the good. Beloved son of Blair and Glenna Porter and Dianne and Larry Carbine. Brother of Mindi Wade, Laura Porter, Ben Porter, Brian Carbine, Bruce Carbine, Dallas Miller, Denver Miller, Ryan Miller, Matt Miller and Rick Porter. Native Californian and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the United States Marine Corps.
