Todd Mark Turley

Todd Mark Turley of Colorado Springs, Colorado, was born on October 31, 1956 in El Paso, Texas to Thomas D. R. Turley and Joyce Bowen Turley. He passed away surrounded with love on July 24, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with his children by his side. He graduated from Coronado High School in 1975 and earned a BS degree in Engineering in 1986 from the University of Texas-El Paso. Todd Turley was employed in various management positions overseeing the construction of new buildings, maintenance, operations, and safety protocol, primarily in the El Paso area and in Mexico. Our father loved his old and new friends and had never met a stranger. He enjoyed sharing stories of his life experiences and constantly made us all laugh as he told them. He was very charismatic and could charm those around him with his smile. He loved classic rock music and outdoor activities such as swimming, basketball, and football. He was competitive and loved winning a good game of darts and pool. One of his favorite pastimes was visiting Elephant Butte Lake with family and friends. He enjoyed simple things in life, such as watching lightning storms and enjoying the special aroma of a rain in El Paso with his family. Halloween was always a big day for us, especially since this was also his birthday. Many still call him by his nickname “Spook”. He instilled the importance of hard work in his children, and he was our Mr. Fix-It Man; he could build and fix anything. He was dedicated in the support of the education and extra-curricular activities of his children, and never missed a basketball or football game of theirs. He loved to travel, especially to the interior of Mexico, where he immersed himself in the food and culture of the area. More recently he travelled around Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico in his RV telling everyone he met about how special his grandchildren are. We will miss him terribly and will forever hold beautiful memories of him in our hearts. Todd Turley is survived by his daughter Lauren Elizabeth Turley Shapiro (Aaron) and son Scott Craig Turley (Haelli); granddaughters Brilynne Shapiro, Zooey Turley and Oakley Turley; sister Pamela Turley and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father, mother, and brother Thomas Turley, II. Private services to be held at a later date.
