February 25th, 1963 - May 25th, 2008
McHale, Tom, 45, of Tampa, passed away May 25, 2008. He was born in Boston, MA and moved to the Bay Area from Gaithersburg, MD in 1987. He was a graduate of the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University. He signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers playing from 1987 until 1992. Tom continued his NFL career playing with the Philadelphia Eagles from 1993-1994 and the Miami Dolphins in 1995. He later owned and operated several restaurants in the Bay Area including McHale’s Chophouse; Mac’s Sports Pub and the “Old Meeting House”. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. James J. McHale in 1980. He is survived by his wife, Lisa; sons, T.J., Michael, and Matthew; mother, Joan McHale of Sarasota, FL; brother, Jim McHale of York, PA and sisters; Mary McHale of San Mateo, CA, Nora Robinson of Seattle, WA and Margy McHale of Montgomery Village, MD. He was also deeply loved by his wife’s entire family including her parents Dr. David and Stephanie D’Alessandro of Lighthouse Point, FL. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church, Tampa. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church.
