Tomasa Vargas

Mrs. Tomasa Vargas, 70, of McElwain Ave, Amsterdam, passed away Monday October 15, 2007 at St. Mary?s Hospital in Amsterdam. Born in Isabella, Puerto Rico on December 21, 1936 a daughter of Tomas and Celestina Aldarondo Vargas. She was raised in Puerto Rico and attended school there. Mrs. Vargas was a homemaker. She is survived by four sons, Alberto Mora of Beacon, NY, Orland Mora of Amsterdam, NY, David Mora of Texas and Jarrin Vargas of Amsterdam, NY. Three daughters, Evelyn Wilson of Texas, Gloria Gamble of Beacon, NY and Marilyn Ruiz of Amsterdam, NY. One sister, Alcadia Barreta of Isabella, Puerto Rico and one brother. 11 Grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by a son- Edwin Mora of Tucson Arizona. Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 20, 2007 at 11:00A.M. at the Iglesia De Dios Pentecostal Church, Elizabeth St. Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday prior to the funeral service beginning at 10A.M. at the church.
