Tracy M Buttars

March 1st, 1956 - April 21st, 2024

Tracy M. Buttars entered this world on March 1, 1956 in Cornish Utah, to Boyd and Bonnie Condie Buttars. Growing up on the family farm in Cornish Utah, Tracy was the third of seven children who loved all sports and outdoor activities. On May 23, 1982 he married his best friend Wendie Harmer in Las Vegas NV. Over the course of 43 adventurous years, they built their lives together, residing in Preston ID, Brigham City UT, Slidell LA, Harrisville UT, and their beloved winter home in Sun City AZ.

His educational journey led him through Skyview High, ISU Tech, and the University of Phoenix, laying the foundation for a successful career. Tracy worked for the aerospace industry for 34 years and retired from Northrup Grumman Corp in 2020. Yet, beyond his career accolades, Tracy found his true fulfillment was being a Dad and Grandpa. He meticulously tended to his red-neck pool, yard, and homes to create a fun space for the family to gather. He treasured taking the family to ballgames, ball tournaments, road trip adventures, and family vacations, so he could spend quality time with those he loved. His three children and eight grandchildren will always have cherished memories because of it.

After coaching girls fast-pitch softball for over 20 years, his love of the game never waivered and he spent the last 3 years playing senior softball in Sun City. Tracy played his last ballgame the same way he lived his life with gusto, excitement, skills, and appreciation for his team mates.

As a devoted member of the benevolent and protective order of Elks for 45 years, Tracy's leadership and altruism left an indelible mark. His commitment to youth charities, veteran services, and scholarship programs forged lifelong connections and garnered national awards. With his vibrant personality, he embraced life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by his close friends who shared memorable times around the campfire, on the golf course, at the ballpark, RV travels, and at his favorite gathering spots.

Tracy's journey was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Boyd and Bonnie Buttars, his father-in-law and confidant, Eugene Harmer, as well as his brothers David B Buttars and Blair D Buttars, his sister-in-law Laurie Harmer Conger, and his grandson, Ezra Hayes Parish. He is survived in death by four siblings, Rick (Julie) Buttars, Brooks Buttars, Darin (Stacy) Buttars, Angie (Wade) Harman and many nieces and nephews that he loved.

His legacy of love and laughter lives on through his wife Wendie, his sons Blair T (Betsy) Buttars and Nicholas Call, his daughter Chelsea (Logan) Parish, and the grandchildren who held a special place in his heart. Keaton Nicholas, Courtney Lyn, Kadin, Kyler, Rowan Lane, Milo Trace, and Jovi Jean, Papa's love will forever be your guiding light.

Two memorial services will be held: April 26th at the Sun Bowl Softball Field 11am, 10220 N 107th Ave, Sun City AZ. May 11th in North Ogden Utah (location announced at a later date).

In lieu flowers please buy a child some new cleats, a bat, a glove or a ticket to see a ball game
