Send Flowers Troy Smith Neal February 10, 1930 - May 24, 2013 Kernersville-Troy Smith Neal, 83, passed away May 24, 2013, at Kerner Ridge Assisted Living. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday June 1, 2013, at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. A life-long resident of Forsyth County, Troy was the son of the late Pearl Warren and Walter Smith "Jack" Neal. He graduated from Walkertown High School. He retired in 1988 from Western Electric following 35 years of service. He then went to work at Webster Brothers Hardware where he truly looked forward to going to work every day. Troy was married to the former Margaret Hester and they lived most of their life in Belews Creek where he was always happy farming and gardening. Troy's family and friends were his true passion and joy. In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by a sister Ruby Neal Harrison and brothers Dewey and Raymond Neal. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years Margaret Hester Neal of Kernersville; daughter Jo Ann Neal Daniel of Kernersville; sisters Wilma Hendrix and Gerald of Kernersville, and Kathryn Sell and Burnis of Belews Creek; brother W. Harvey Neal and Jeanette of Walkertown; his aunt Treva Martin Neal of Walkertown and uncle Irvin W. Warren and Mildred of Boynton Beach, FL; niece Faye Mabe Clodfelter and Harry and also her children Jill and son Noah, Melissa and daughter Jessie, Kevin and daughter Laken.
