Truman Alfred Rupp
June 6th, 1926 - November 26th, 2019
Truman Alfred Rupp, of Wheat Ridge, Colorado went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 26th, 2019. He was born June 6, 1926 in Canon City, Colorado. This fine gentleman was preceded in passing by his parents, Fred Earl and Millie Daley Rupp, his first wife Neldine White Rupp and Wilma Gebauer Rupp. Truman was the last of his 6 sisters and 1 brother to go to Glory. A daughter Carol Ann Rupp, stepdaughter, Diana Darlene Groetken and stepson, Lyle Dennis Heater preceded him in passing. Truman Rupp is survived by his sons, Roger Michael Rupp and his wife Deborah Barnes Rupp and Patrick Owen Rupp (both of Fairbury, Nebraska). A stepson, Neil Allen Heater and his wife Diana Lynn Heater of Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Additionally, he is survived by 10 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Truman Rupp spent 40+ years as a construction heavy-equipment mechanic. Some of the projects he had a hand in building was a part of the cog-rail line of the Royal Gorge and the second tunnel of the Eisenhower Tunnel. After retirement he spent a few years working in Blackhawk Colorado and was known as Mr. O’Lucky at Fitzgerald’s Casino. Boy Scouting with his sons was a big aspect of Mr. Rupp’s life. He also loved hunting, fishing, camping, lapidary, knowing his family, taking cruises with his second wife after retirement. During WWII, Truman was part of the Occupation Forces of mainland Japan after their surrender. He was a member of the Army Infantry. He liked to share how he came upon a jewel-encrusted Japanese sword but lost it to a “pushy” Lieutenant who pulled rank. Instead he brought home two Japanese bayonets instead. In late 2008, Truman Rupp placed his trust in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Memorial services will be Wednesday, December 11th, 10 A.M. at Arvada Baptist Church in Arvada Colorado and family-only military honors service at Fort Logan Military Cemetery at 2 P.M.
