Valerie Jean LaMotte Jennings
January 3rd, 1954 - December 20th, 2022
Age 68 of Maplewood, MN, Died Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at United Hospital peacefully under the care of Hospice. Valerie Jennings was born on January 3, 1954, to Lester and Lynn LaMotte. She attended Lakewood College where she met her future husband. Val worked as a Respiratory Therapist for 25 years through United Hospital. In 1983 she married Wayne Lee Jennings in Saint Paul, MN. She was a breeder of American Cocker Spaniels, and her breeding’s had many champions. Val was involved in teaching junior showmanship. She found her gift in painting through multiple modalities and watercolor painting was her joy. Val opened a business in art and design, which included printing through a sublimation process, weaving leather leashes and collars, making jewelry, making custom awards, sublimating beautiful scarves, and an author and illustrator of children’s books. Val is survived by her husband Wayne; her 3 sisters, Dawn Johnson (Peter), of NC, Leanne Benson (Eric) of Caledonia, MN., Jeanette LaMotte of Arizona. 1 Nephew, Brandon Keil, and 3 Niece’s, Morgan Keil, Alexandra Johnson and Christina Johnson, 1 great nephew and 1 great niece, and a longtime friend, Debora Blakeway. She was preceded in death by her parents Lynn and Lester LaMotte. 11:00 AM Memorial Service Wed. April 26 at Sandberg Funeral Home, 2593 E. Seventh Ave., North St. Paul (Vistation from 10:00 – 11:00 AM). Thank you for your Kindness and Caring during this difficult time. You will always be remembered in our prayers.
