Valorie Ann Randall
August 18th, 1956 - July 18th, 2022
Dr. Valorie Randall, beloved mother, aunt, and sister, passed away unexpectedly in the hospital on Monday, July 18 in Greeley, Colorado. She was 65. Born on August 18, 1956 in Colorado Springs to Raymond Almeida and Margie Sanchez, Valorie was the second oldest of four children, helping to care for her younger brothers growing up. She earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Speech Pathology & Audiology from Adams State College, and a PhD in Non-Profit Leadership & Humanities from the University of Arizona. A caretaker by nature, Valorie worked for more than thirty years in Greeley, Colorado as the Executive Director of the non-profit Schaefer Enterprises INC, which provides services to some of Weld County’s most vulnerable population, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In 2006, she and her staff began establishing several Greeley and Evans businesses with the goal of providing meaningful work and community for the people they serve. Many of these businesses continue to flourish, including Express Shredding Solutions, electronic recycling, and Twice as Nice Boutique, a brick-and-mortar thrift store which sells new and gently used clothing, electronics, and accessories. Valorie was deeply devoted to serving her community. She treated her employees like a second family, working side-by-side with many of them for more than twenty years. Her accomplishments have ensured that thousands of people with intellectual disabilities in Weld County are able to live a life of dignity. Valorie is survived by her husband, John Randall, her son, Josh Randall, her three brothers, Vince, Victor, and Vance Almeida, her nephews Adam and Austin Almeida, her nieces Cassie Musgrove and Kylie Almeida, and her best friend and co-worker, Monique Harrison-Sprinkle. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 3, at the Millennium Event Center from 11AM-2PM.
