Velma Kay Russell
June 2nd, 1954 - March 5th, 2024
Velma Kay Russell departed this life on March 5, 2024, in Evans, Colorado, at the age of 69.
Born on June 2, 1954, in Greeley, to parents Harold Russell and Shirley (Martin) Russell.
Following her graduation from Greeley West High School, class of 1973, she dedicated herself to her work. She spent several years at Kodak before moving on to Vergent Products, where she devoted 12 years of service. Velma was known for her unwavering work ethic and exceptional skill.
Outside of work, Velma found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for reading and solving puzzles, activities that brought her immense happiness.
Throughout her life, Velma remained rooted in Greeley, her hometown. Described as a jewel by those who knew her best. She was known for her infectious humor, genuine kindness, unwavering honesty, and she was “spicy like a habanero pepper”.
Velma will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Velma is survived by Janice L. Rohr and Matthew W. Russell, niece, Amber D. Rohr and nephews, Robert E. Rohr, Jesse Russell, Justin Russell.
Velma is preceded in death by her parents, Harold M. Russell and Shirley J. Russell and siblings, Carol J. Russell, Howard M. Russell and Mark V. Russell.
A celebration of Velma’s life will be held on Friday, March 15th at the Ault Senior Center at 10:30am. 204 1st Street, Ault CO 80610.
A graveside service will follow and the family invites everyone back to the Ault Senior Center for a lunch.
