Vena E. Fernandez, age 70, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2014. Vena was a wonderful mother and housewife. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sally Gonzales; and brothers, Pete and Ray Gonzales, from Cheyenne, WY. Vena is survived by her husband, Cruz Fernandez, of Los Lunas NM; children, Orlando Martinez, Ruben Montoya, Debra Montoya, Wanda Montoya, and Brenda Montoya; 32 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; step-children, Cecelia, Antonia and Armando Fernandez; brothers, John and David Gonzales; and sister, Viola Solis and her husband Alfred from Cheyenna, WY. All services will take place at San Clemente Catholic Church beginning with a viewing on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 6:00 PM, followed by recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM. Final viewing will take place on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 9:30 AM, with Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
