Vera Saunders DeWitt died peacefully with loving family August 28, 2019 in Lakewood, CO. She was born February 12, 1924 in Wakefield, Massachusetts to Paul Albertus Saunders and Vera Emily White Saunders. She is survived by 2 brothers, Steven Saunders and Carl Forbes Saunders, her son Gregory James DeWitt, and grandsons Seth Paul DeWitt and Tyler James DeWitt. Vera had an early career as a registered nurse at Rose Hospital in Denver, CO. She then stayed at home raising her family and was an accomplished knitter, quilter, gardener and an avid birdwatcher. A private memorial service will be held at her sons home in Lakewood Co. Donations may be made to the National Audubon Society.
