Mrs. Vera R. Lisicki, 92, of Arnold Ave, Amsterdam, passed away early Sunday morning February 20, 2011 at the E.L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam. Born in Amsterdam, NY on October 12, 1918. She was the daughter of John and Rose Favalie Chiara. Vera was educated in Amsterdam Schools. She was married to the late Benny Lisicki Sr. who passed away on May 31, 1978. Mrs. Lisicki worked for three dress companies in Amsterdam the former Martin J's , Hanover and Mohawk Dress. Vera was a former member of the community seniors and was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. Survivors include her son Ben Lisicki and daughter in law Nancy Lisicki of Amsterdam. Grandson, Jeff Lisicki and his wife Nichole. Two great-granddaughters Ashlyn and Emily. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Vera is predeceased by five brothers and six sisters; Joe, Jim, Frank, Mike, John, Mary, Amelia, Marion, Tessie, Lena and Ann. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday February 22, 2011 at 10:00A.M. at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 50 Cornell St. Amsterdam, NY with Father Stanislaus Swierzowski as celebrant and Father Robert O. DeMartinis as concelebrant. There are no calling hours. Private interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Amsterdam. Memorial contributions may be made to the E.L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility, 4988 State Hwy 30N., Amsterdam, NY 12010.
