Vergie M. Nicosia a long time resident of Waukesha, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Seasons Hospice in Waukesha at the age of 89 years. She was born on December 23, 1925 in Pearson, WI the daughter of Lloyd and Elizabeth Low. She moved to Waukesha in 1942 and married the love of her life, Joseph Nicosia Sr. in 1948. Vergie loved to cook, crochet and listen to music. She welcomed everyone that entered her home as though they were family; including numerous pets over the years. Vergie will be sadly missed by her children, Kathy Nicosia, Nita Nicosia, Sue Nicosia all of Waukesha and Joseph (Jalaine) Nicosia Jr. of Palmyra; grandchildren, Michael Nicosia, Brandon Nicosia, Deuane Krogulski, Shaun Krogulski and Allysa Krogulski; great-grandchildren, Kassi Svetlik, Harmony Gall; great-great-grandchild, Damien Svetlik and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; siblings, Arvol, Dan, Jesse, Delbert, Bennie Ardell, Laura, Nellie and Bernice. A visitation for Vergie will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the 7:00 p.m. funeral service on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha, WI 53188. The burial will take place on Thursday at 11:00a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, S22 W22890 E. Broadway, Waukesha, WI 53186 (please meet at the chapel).
