Verlo Wayne Bush Sr., 70, of Weiser, Idaho, passed away peacefully from this life the morning of June 2, 2023, at home. Verlo was born on June 25, 1952, in Longview, Washington to Marvin Cecil and Edna Schmidt Bush. He was the youngest of their four children. Verlo spent many happy childhood years in the town of Rainier, Oregon. In 1970, he graduated from Rainier Union High School. In 1974, Verlo met the love of his life, Brenda Lee Humphrey. After a brief courtship, they were married on August 17, 1974, in Rainier, Oregon. To this union, they were blessed with two children: Trica and Verlo Jr. During their residence in Rainer, Verlo was a proud member of the JC's and was also a member of a local bowling league. For over 25 years, Verlo and Brenda owned and operated Bush’s Lawn Service. Verlo was also a heavy equipment operator and helped build the hydroelectric dam located near Horseshoe Bend, Idaho. In 1993, Verlo and Brenda made the decision to move to Weiser, Idaho to be closer to Brenda’s parents. In 1999, they chose to pull up stakes and move back to Rainier to be closer to family. In 2004, they made their final move back to Weiser in order to be near their grandchildren and become an integral part of their lives. Verlo’s life revolved around his family. He loved being with his grandchildren. He made it a point to attend all their sporting events. He enjoyed playing card games and dominoes with his granddaughters, Grace and Hannah. Verlo never knew a stranger and he was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He enjoyed fishing, particularly at Dibbley’s Beach on the Columbia River. Some of his favorite times were fishing with his son, his son-in-law, Bud Swank, and Levi, his grandson. While he loved fishing, hunting, and camping, he was most well known for his carpentry skills. Over his lifetime as a carpenter, Verlo made many gifts out of wood and presented them to those he loved. Verlo was preceded in death by his parents; Son, Verlo Wayne Bush Jr; Sister, Pamela King; Brother, Larry Bush; and Brothers-in-law Darrel Trumble, Kennith Humphrey, and Lester “Squirt” Prouty. We Entrusted Verlo Bush Sr.'s Care To

Thomason Funeral Home

For more than 100 years, the Thomason Funeral Home has worked to help the Weiser community heal after loss. We help families plan funerals, cremation services, and celebration of life services. Our story began in 1910 when Lloyd Northam opened the doors at the site now occupied by the current Weiser Elk’s Lodge. Since then, the business has had several names, partnerships, and owners. Among them was Dale Thomason, our namesake, who began working at the funeral home in the mid-1940s and purchased the home as a family business to run with his son. At Thomason, we focus on helping your family with personalized care. We do everything we can to provide professional, compassionate support to every family that trusts us with their funeral arrangements. Along with our sister location in Ontario, Oregon, we help Treasure Valley families connect, honor, and remember their loved ones....
