Vernon, 82 years old, passed away on October 3, 2014, at Providence Mother Joseph Care Center in Olympia, Washington. He was born on February 23, 1932, to Harley and Cozy (Gilliam) Addington in Isonville, Kentucky. In 1984 Vernon married the love of his life, Judy Freestone and together, they raised two sons and three daughters. Vernon drove truck and was a diesel mechanic. He also owned Cascade Loan & Sporting Goods in Auburn until he retired in 2002. He loved to travel, which meant he could use his airplane, another of his loves. He really enjoyed going up to the hills and snowmobiling during the winter. Keeping up his yard was very important to Vernon. He also enjoyed woodworking and making things. Most of all, Vernon especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Vernon is survived by his wife of 30 years, Judy; son David Addington; step-son Kevin Opdahl; daughter Teresa (Susie) Addington-Cooper; step-daughters Brenda (Russ) Burr and Tanya (Scott) Hoeck; 13 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Family asks that any memorial donations be sent to Activities Department at Providence Mother Joseph Care Center (3333 Ensign Road NE, Olympia WA 98506), in memory of Vernon Addington.
