Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel - Payette
Vernon Bruce Needs
August 12th, 1949 - March 4th, 2024
Vernon, fondly known as "Bruce" passed away on the afternoon of March 4, 2024, at the age of 74, after bravely fighting against a long battle with cancer. Bruce, a radiant soul, graced the world on August 12, 1949, in Ontario, Oregon, under the loving gaze of Venon and Dena Needs. He stood as the eldest among 10 siblings. Payette, Idaho is where he grew up and spent a majority of his life. He graduated from Payette High School in 1968. Bruce dedicates his early adulthood serving in the U.S. Army touring Vietnam. Upon concluding his service in the Army, he returned to his hometown where he spent many years working heavy construction. He married Donna Rae (Fischer). Together, they had three daughters: Carol, Susan, and Julie. He found enjoyment in fishing, exploring the mountains for wood, going to the movies, and participating in the art of bartering and trade. He had faith in the Jehovah religion. We shall forever cherish the essence of the man Bruce embodied - a soul of kindness, authenticity, light-heartedness, and perpetual joy. He is preceded in death by his father, Vernon Samuel Needs, mothe, Dena Mae (Blocher) Needsand his brother, Gregory Scott Needs. Bruce is survived by his wife of 52 years, Donna Rae Needs.
