Vicki Fedde

On the afternoon of Friday, November 14th, Vicki Hymel Fedde passed away quietly at St. Peter's Hospital after suffering a brain hemorrhage the Tuesday before. Vicki's 69th birthday was that week. Vicki had more degrees under her belt than most: she earned a PhD at NC State, her MBA at Duke University, and her Physician Assistant's certification at Wake Forest University. She was not only a physician's assistant, frequently requested by patients at the practices where she worked in the Schenectady area, but also over the years an entomologist, a biology teacher, a corporate manager at Siecor, and an entrepreneur. She also worked as a graduate student caring for lemurs. Vicki loved sewing, quilting, cooking, and singing, both with Sweet Adelines and in church. She led and volunteered with her daughter's girl scout troop for years. In recent years she enjoyed birding and hiking. She and her husband of 45 years spent their honeymoon in Kenya. In August, she and her daughter went north to watch Alaskan moose, grizzlies, and eagles in the wild. Vicki leaves behind her husband Gerry, her daughter Rachel, and siblings Carolyn and Darrell, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews with whom she enjoyed corresponding.
