Vickie Lynn Carver DeSantis

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vickie Lynn Carver DeSantis. Our comfort lies in knowing that on October 26, 2023, she joined her loved ones in heaven, and we are confident that God assigned her the duty of activities director. Vickie was born on May 21, 1952, in Bluefield, WV. She was a graphic designer, avid shopper, phenomenal mother, and grandma extraordinaire. She had a passion for life and loved being with her family and friends. Vickie adored her four grandchildren and built her life around all their activities. There was never a ball game or dance recital that she missed. Vickie loved the holidays and went to great lengths to make them special. The simplest pleasures in life brought her great joy. She loved spending time with Lenny, her two daughters, four grandchildren and family and friends. She also loved her long phone conversations with her only sister. Vickie leaves behind her partner, Lenny Malys of Bluffton SC; her two daughters: Theresa Schirg (Charles Schirg) of Factoryville PA, and Debra Butler (Jeremy Butler) of Hilton Head, SC; four grandchildren: RJ Schirg, Mackenzie Schirg, Cole Schirg and Wyatt Butler; sister Kathy Fry (Bill Fry) of Kettering, OH; and two nieces: Misty Fry (Leonard Scowden) and Angee Vincent, both of Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence Elwood and Betty Cleary Carver. A celebration of life service will be held on October 31, 2023, at The Island Funeral and Crematory on Hilton Head Island. Viewing will be from 12:00 to 2:00 with a service to follow. Vickie will be laid to rest at St. Luke’s Memorial Gardens, 3080 Okatie Hwy., Bluffton, SC.
