Vicky Diane Krizan

Vicky Diane Krizan (née Sameshima) died on February 14, 2024, at the age of 68. 

Vicky was born to Yukio and Hanako Sameshima on March 23, 1955, in Greeley, Colorado. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Colorado Boulder. She went on to become a registered nurse. 

Vicky married her husband, John Krizan, on May 25, 1996. 

She worked with the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment until she retired in 2022. Vicky was proud of her Japanese heritage, passionate in her appreciation of good food, and kindhearted and caring, including toward her feline companions.  

She was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her husband; her mother; her siblings, Patricia Sameshima, Gordon Sameshima and his wife Norma Sameshima, Shari Giffin and her husband Loren Giffin, and Bradley Sameshima; her nephews and niece, Garrett Giffin, Marissa Cox and her husband Derrik Cox, and Andrew Sameshima; and two great-nieces.  

A memorial service will take place on May 18, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 817 10th Avenue, Greeley, Colorado 80631. 

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation to NOCO Humane (formerly Humane Society of Weld County), 3501 East 71st Street, Loveland, Colorado 80538 in memory of Vicky Krizan to support their work promoting thewelfare of cats and kittens.
