Victor Hope Akers, 56, of Port Charlotte, formerly of Michigan City, IN, died after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 in Punta Gorda, FL. He was Born to the late Okey Lee and Sue Ann (nee: Wheeldon) Akers on February 24, 1957 in Michigan City, IN. Moving to SW Florida in 1996 he was a active member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte, and owner and operator of Little Willies RV Resort in Arcadia. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to any Wells Fargo Bank Account number (waiting for bank info) for Victor's grandchildren's education fund. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Deborah; son, Alexander Akers and his wife Danielle; daughter, Catherine Akers Cahill and her husband Andrew; three grandchildren, Carson, Callie, and Kaden; brother, Okey Lee (Pamela) Akers; sisters, Susan (Oscar) Blue, and Dottie (Richard) Seibel; many nieces, nephews and dear friends who loved him. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 211 West Charlotte Street, Punta Gorda, FL 33950 941-639-3957 Committal will follow to Charlotte Memorial Cemetery, 9400 Indian Springs Cemetery Rd, Punta Gorda, FL 941-639-1171 Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, Crematory and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
