Victor Vidal Montoya was born October 30, 1931, in Snyder, Colorado to Placido Montoya and Amalia Romero Montoya.  He was preceded in death by his siblings Conrado, Andrea, Norberto, Francisco, Bernardo, Adelmira, Eloy, Emma, and Luis, along with his daughter Debra. Josefina, Ernestina, and Juan were able to say goodbye to their brother.  

Victor was a member of the 630th AC&W Squadron in the Air Force, a Korean War veteran, and honorably discharged from the Air Force Reserves in 1960. He married Annie Soto on June 13, 1955 in Platteville, Colorado.  Together they had 4 children, Victor Michael Montoya, Debra Antonia Montoya, Ronald Anthony Montoya, and Lisa Ann Tobar – and they raised them in Platteville Colorado, Simi Valley California, Delta Colorado, and Longmont Colorado. 

Victor retired from 30 years of service at the United States Postal Service in 1991. He then enjoyed spending time with his family, going to Brush to visit his dad, going to Red Feathers with his family, and walking around the lake near his home to start his day.

 

He passed away on August 5, 2024 at home with his family in Longmont Colorado.  He is survived by his wife, Annie Montoya, their children; Victor Montoya, Ronald Montoya (Connie) and Lisa Tobar (Larry) – 11 grandchildren; Cassandra Stenka (Justin), Martin Montoya (Chante), Alicia Hutton (Taylor), Janie Montoya, Angelo Torrez (Carissa), Jordan Camara Montoya, Dani Mundell, Alyssa Guzman (Hector), Travis Montoya, Maddison Montoya and  Joevon Montoya (Savannah) – 18 great-grandchildren: Martin Montoya, Logan Stenka, Lilly Hutton, Hovi Martinez, Tillman Hutton, Oliver Montoya, Nevis Torrez, Gidieon Montoya, Madden Mundell, Callisto Guzman, Taven Mundell, Everly Hutton, Luciana Guzman, Seven Torrez, Quetzalli Guzman, Rina Stenka, James Montoya and Calaya Montoya.
