Victor William Rein

February 10th, 2011

Victor William Rein was born January 18, 1929 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada. He married his beloved wife, Billie, in 1955 and they made their home in Wisconsin, Illinois and Connecticut before settling in Oregon in 1969. They were both active members of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Victor graduated from Michigan State University in 1952. He served two years as a lieutenant in the United States Air Force and was honored for his innovations in recruitment. Victor’s successful and respected business career spanned 40 years as a manufacturer’s representative. He retired after 20 years as owner of the Oregon-based Norman S. Wright Company. After retirement, Victor volunteered as a consultant with the SCORE Association of the Small Business Association. He and Billie co-founded the Highlands Bible Study which just celebrated its 20th anniversary with over 400 ecumenical Christian speakers and will continue with dedicated leadership. Victor shared his business experience and faith as co-founder of the pocket cross ministry that continues with the blessing of new leadership. Victor had a lifelong interest in aviation and has passed on his love of music to his family. Victor lived his life, dedicated his work, loved his family and cherished his friends as a reflection of his deep faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Victor is preceded in death by his wife Billie, parents Remus and Elizabeth, and sisters Dorothy, Carolyn and Rita. Victor is survived by his dearly loved family: his sister Lyn and her husband Ken; his children Cynthia and her husband Emanuel, Roger and his wife Barbara, Karen and her husband Edward, and Howard; his grand children Margaret and her husband Matthew, Katelyn, Glen and Scot; and his cherished nieces and nephews. Victor’s memorial service will be on Saturday, February 19 at 3:00 pm at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 13401 SW Benish Street, Tigard, Oregon. There will be a private family burial service at Willamette National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in honor of Victor to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church/The Taffy Rein Memorial Fund.
