Biography of the late Dr. Victor Baker Teye And I heard a voice from heaven saying, "Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the LORD from now on!" "Amen Revelation 14 : 13 Dr. Victor Baker Teye of Chandler, AZ passed on into God"s Glory on August 25, 2015. He was 66 years old. Victor was born on May 4, 1949 at Cape Coast, Ghana to Mr. Seth Victor Teye and Mrs. Dora Buerki Teye (nÁ©e Boye- Doe) both of blessed memory. He was the fourth (4th) child of five (5) children. Dr. Victor Teye received his formal education in several schools including the Abordwe and Presbyterian Primary schools, both at Manprobi in Accra, the Presbyterian Middle Boys" Boarding School, Bana Hill at the Odumase Krobo, Ghana, then on to the Presbyterian Secondary School (PRESEC) also at Odumase Krobo. He had wanted to join the veterinary Services as an officer but he was advised during the interview to pursue his education further due to his excellent grade in the GCE O Level. This took him to Navrongo Secondary School in Ghana for his sixth form education. His tertiary education was at the University of Ghana, Legon, Ghana and at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada. He was an educator for almost 30 years and taught at several schools and colleges including the Arizona State University (ASU), the University of Winnipeg, Canada, the University of Illinois at Urbana""Champaign (UIUC), Cape Coast University, and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). He was visiting Professor at IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems in Austria. Dr. Teye also worked for international organizations like Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), was a Fulbright Scholar, co-authored two books in Tourism and published several articles in referred journals on Tourism. Dr. Teye retired in 2011 from Arizona State University as Professor Emeritus after almost thirty years of teaching. Professor Victor Teye"s life touched many people as an educator of thousands of students and as a research scholar. He will be missed by his students, colleagues, friends, family, and particularly by his three children. Dr. Victor Teye is survived by his wife Anna Anatsui, two daughters Otuko John-Teye (Robert) of Houston, and Stephanie Teye of Chandler, son Victor Teye Jr. of Tempe and his brothers Captain (Rtd.) Ebenezer Amanortey Teye of Accra, Emmanuel Teye of Ripon, Wisconsin and Isaiah Amanarh John-Teye of Accra. He is also survived by the mothers of his children: Felicia Akweley Obuobie of Accra and Vivian Tsegah-Teye of Tempe. He was preceded in death by his beloved, mother, Mrs. Dora Teye (nee Boye-Doe), his father Seth Victor Teye, and only sister Mrs. Grace Emily Amanorkie Teye. His cousins are Augusts Doe John-Teye, Olive Dopey John-Teye, Robert John-Teye, Mrs. Mary Hyde; Squadron Leader Amos John-Teye, Lawrence Otute John-Teye, Mrs. Ann Otukuor Odametey and Gladys John-Teye. Victor Elizer "Owula Aku" Teye, Rest in perfect peace! Dr. Victor Teye"s survivors wish to extend a heartfelt thanks to his dedicated friend and Caregiver Ms. Marilyn Johnson; Hospice of the Valley, Arizona; Silver-Spring Home Health Services, Houston; Dr. Adedapo of Oroki Family Health Care, Houston; Dr. Monisha Singh of Houston Methodist Hospital; Dr. Clarence Adoo and Dr. Bhalla of Arizona. Visitation will be held on September 4, 2015 at 6:00 P.M at Falconer Funeral Home, 251 W Juniper Ave, Gilbert, AZ 85233. Services will be held the following day, September 5, 2015 at 10:00 A.M also at Falconer Funeral Home. Burial is to take place following services at Green Acres Cemetery, 401 N Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85257.
