Victor Manuel H. Torres
October 11th, 1947 - June 3rd, 2016
Victor Manuel H. Torres, 68, of Yuba City, CA, passed away on June 3, 2016 at his home after a long struggle with liver disease. Victor was born in Las Cruces, NM but raised in Jalisco, Mexico where he earned an accounting degree prior to moving to the United States. He briefly lived in the Los Angeles area before moving to Marysville, CA where he joined and served in the U.S. Army. After being honorably discharged from the military, he moved to Yuba City and was a resident for approximately 40 years. Victor loved his career as a truck driver, which allowed him to travel throughout many states. He enjoyed playing chess, writing, reading books, astronomy, and history. Some of his favorite hobbies were motor cross and working on cars. He had a memorable smile and loved meeting new people. Victor will be deeply missed and will always be loved by his family and friends. Victor is survived by his wife of 42 years, Maria del Sagrario Torres; his children Diana Florine Torres, Martha Garcia, Victor M. Torres, Isaac Torres, Moises Torres, Rosa Torres, Victoria Torres, Carolina Torres, Rheannon Torres, Victor W. Torres, and Xochitl Torres; grandchildren Alex Garcia, Elizabeth Garcia, Manuel Torres, Reyna Torres, and Diana Lee; and many other loving relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Luz Maria Torres of Jalisco, Mexico. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Ullrey Memorial Chapel with the Rosary service at 6:00 pm. Mass will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Isidore Catholic Church, followed by a graveside service and burial at Sutter Cemetery at 1:15 pm.
