Victoria Carol Payne

Victoria "Carol" Payne, age 61, of Weber City, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at her home. Heaven will never welcome a sweeter mother. A native of Blackwater, VA, she was born June 9, 1954 to the late Bob and Phronie Stewart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life of 15 years, Carson Payne; brothers, Conley Stewart and Earl Hale. Carol loved singing at churches and nursing homes until her illness prevented her. She loved spending time with her wonderful husband, Carson, and they are now together again. She is survived by her children, Melissa McCracken, Dianne Dorton, Bobby Allen (Mandy), Robbie Allen and Cathy Hensley (Scott); grandchildren, Jessica, Shania, Hailey, Matthew, Katie, Alexis, Tristan, Connor, Austin, Katie, Lexie, Jayden, Mason and Joey; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Donnie Stewart; sisters, Garnie Freeman, Marie Jones and Duggie Mullins (Willie); several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Scott County Funeral Home in Weber City, VA. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 pm with Evanglists Garry Hood and Kenneth Neeley officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Payne Family Cemetery. All those wishing to go in procession are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:45 am.
