Vincene Lorraine Caruana
February 24th, 1955 - January 22nd, 2024
Vincene Lorraine Caruana (Fiato) entered fully into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, January 22, 2024. Born on February 24, 1955, Vincene grew up in Camillus with her parents, Vincent and Winnie, and her 10 siblings. She met the love of her life, Don, in 1974, and they married on January 15, 1977. They, along with their two children, shared the next 47 years building a life of love, laughter, adventure, faith, and joy. Vincene loved reading, music, dinners with her family, and time spent having lunch and thrifting with her Sweet Pea. Sharing in worship with her family of faith at The Vineyard Church brought her great happiness. Her kindness touched everyone who knew her. She had a warm smile, a vibrant laugh, a wickedly playful sense of humor, and a gentle yet fiery spirit that radiated love, compassion, and truth. In Vincene’s presence it was impossible to feel lonely; to be near her was to know that you were celebrated for exactly who you are. Vincene is survived by her husband, Don; her daughter, Nicole Sladick (Zac), her son, Eric Caruana; and her grandchildren, Hailee, Avery, Ethan, and Brayden. Calling hours will be Sunday, January 28th from 2 to 5 PM at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina St., Syracuse, NY 13205. Services will be Monday, January 29th at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Vincene will be deeply missed and forever remembered. As we learn to live without her, we will take comfort in knowing that she is finally free in Heaven.
