Vincent James Ambrosino
February 11th, 1920 - June 16th, 2006
Mr. Vincent James Ambrosino, age 86, died Friday, June 16, 2006 at his home in Gloversville. He was born February 11, 1920 in Gloversville, a son of the late Arturo and Amalia Pirro Ambrosino. He attended Gloversville schools, a later served in the US Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945. He was an owner of the long-time family business, Ambroson Gloves, Inc. of Gloversville. Mr. Ambrosino was a member of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, the Gloversville Catholic War Veterans and the VFW Post #2077. On October 20, 1945 he was married to Allene Lawhorn who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Linda M. Cenzano Larry of Gloversville and Gloria J. Riley Mickey of Columbia, TN; two brothers, Arthur Ambrosino Ann of Gloversville and Henry Ambrosino Ann of Glens Falls; a sister, Mary Sanges of Gloversville; a grandson, Christopher J. Cenzano Kristie; a step-granddaughter, Kim Franks Jeff; four great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three brothers, Ralph Ambrosino, Albert Ambrosino and Giro Ambrosino. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm Sunday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a prayer service will be held at 9:15 am Monday, followed at 10:00 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church. Interment will take place at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078 or to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211.
