Violet Knox “Her children rise up and call her blessed” (Proverbs 31:28) Violet Knox was born on July17,1909, in Battle Ground, Washington. She was 104 years and 10 months old when she died on May 13 of age related causes at Alpine Court in Eugene. Violet’s long life was dedicated to her family, friends and church. She raised five children and welcomed into the family 14 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 7 great, great grandchildren. She enjoyed making quilts and giving them away to her grandchildren and others. She was a faithful Christian and active worker in her church. Violet is preceded in death by her husband, Blair and three children, Shirley Kilborn, Everett Knox, and Luana Austin. She is survived by two sons and their wives, George and Frances Knox and Gilbert and Nancy Knox. A memorial service will be held at the Twin Oaks Christian Church on Saturday, May 17, at 2:00 PM. Public viewing will take place at the Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene on Friday from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.
