Mrs. Violet Lorine Proctor, 90 of St. Petersburg passed away at Woodside Hospice House on August 14, 2012. Lorine or "Big Red", as she was known in her younger days, was a wonderful and caring person that was loved by many friends and family. She passed on what would have been her late husband's birthday. Lorine was born May 24th, 1922, in St. Petersburg, FL to Daniel and Hattie (Rogers) Harden. Lorine was a lifelong resident of St. Petersburg, and only spent a short time living out of state with her husband, Harry, during his training in the Army prior to his deployment to Europe during WWII. Lorine had a varied career as a gift store attendant at Sunken Gardens, a homemaker, a manager at Perkins Pancake House and the Steers Restaurant, an interior designer and as co-proprietor of the Cavalier Motel on 4th Street. S he was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Harry G. Proctor, her son, Robert F. Proctor, her brothers Ed Harden and Hugh Harden and his wife Dorothy (Todd) Harden. Survivors include her grandchild, Robert F Proctor Jr. and his wife Christine (Wilson) Proctor and their children, Cadence and Calliope Proctor of Carmel IN, her daughter-in-law, Diane Moore Proctor of St. Petersburg, FL and three nephews and one niece. She was a member of the St. Petersburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, September 8th, 2012 at the St. Petersburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church, located at 1001 56th St. N. David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Central Avenue Chapel in St. Petersburg is serving the family. Service Information
