Violet Jean Saunders Violet J. (Heim) Saunders – February 8, 1935 – June 16, 2018, Age 83, of Tacoma, WA passed away peacefully in her sleep June 16, 2018. Violet was born on February 8, 1935 to Heinrich “Henry” Heim and Bertha (Ottmar) Heim-Koepplin in Elgin, ND. She was raised on the family farm and attended school in Elgin. Violet moved to Tacoma, WA after high school and married Charles T. Saunders on December 5, 1958. To this union, three children were born: David (Sherrie) Saunders, Craig (Kathy) Saunders (grandchildren Coleton and Jessie) of Puyallup, WA and Lisa (Barry) Spomer (grandchildren Stryker and Tyler) of Edmonds, WA. Violet was employed as an executive secretary by Weyerhaeuser Timber Company in Federal Way, WA for 23 years. Upon retirement in 1991, she enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to cook/bake, was an avid reader and enjoyed doing multiple crossword puzzles per day in addition to working in her yard. Violet was preceded in death by her parents, Bertha and Henry, sisters, Norma Sondrol (Turtle Lake, ND) and Betty Stevens (Belgrade, MT) and brother Jimmy Heim (Butte, MT). She is survived by her loving sister, Gertie Permann (Mesquite, NV) and step son Steven (Bonnie) Saunders (Allegheny, NY). Violet was a member of the Lutheran Church and is now in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Arrangements by Edwards Memorial, Funerals Homes, Chapels and Crematories. 253-566-1008
