Thompson, Violet Jean 1927 ~ 2012 Violet was born Violet Jean Huffman Nov. 23, 1927 in McAlester, Oklahoma. She attended Oklahoma State University and began her career as a legal secretary. Her career was interrupted by her marriage and her new career as a mother and homemaker of 4 children. Her life took her and the family from Oklahoma to Kansas, then to northern California, then to southeastern New Mexico. There she met and married Gene Thompson while resurrecting her career as a legal secretary. After a quick relocate to Albuquerque, the family settled in Denver in 1971, resuming her dual careers. Since living in Denver, she stayed busy with church activities and deepening her faith. She raised her children with the same strong faith, morals and convictions she based her life around. She spent her last years at Emeritus of Denver being loved and cared for by the doting staff. She is survived by her 4 children: Kent & Sandy Paul of Ft. Collins; Mark Paul & Tanya Haynes of CuraÁ§ao, Dutch Caribbean; Steve & Christie Sparr of Denver; and Dave & Lori Carlson of Littleton. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Jared Sparr of Greenwood Village; Matt & Lauren Paul of Denver; and Britta and Linnea Carlson of Littleton. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene P. Thompson, in 1997. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer†™s Association in her honor.
