Virgie Bolin
December 28th, 1913 - June 10th, 2012
Mrs. Virgie Lee Bolin, age 98 a resident of Blairsville, Georgia former resident of Auburndale, Florida. Virgie went peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 10, 2012 in the afternoon, at the Stonehenge Assisted Living Facility in Blairsville, where she had been receiving tender and loving care over the past three years. Mrs. Bolin was born December 28, 1913 in Lauderdale County, Alabama to James Edward and Louisa Sarah Jane (Swinney) Hill. Before moving to Blairsville, Virgie had lived in Florence, Alabama until her marriage and then they moved to Auburndale, Florida. She packed citrus fruit for Adams Packing Company for 43 years, later working for Griffin Gift Citrus. During the early 1940's she worked one summer in Oak Ridge, Tennessee on a secret military weapon production line. She loved reading all her life, passing that love along to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great great grandchildren. She was a member of the Lena Vista Baptist Church in Auburndale where she also served as a Sunday School teacher. She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 40 years - Thomas Bolin (1971); 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Virgie is survived by her loving and devoted family: 2 Daughters: Patsy Bolin (Bill) Whatley of Blairsville, GA and Carlene Bolin (Don) Jernigan of Cedar Park, TX. 7 Grandchildren: Sandi Whatley (Paul) Richardson of Blairsville, GA; Mike Whatley of New Hope, PA; Trish Whatley (James) Efird of Clemmons, NC; Bill (Gail) Whatley, Jr. of Brooksville, FL; Christy Jernigan Bloomingdale of Austin, TX; Cindy Jernigan Phillips of Austin, TX; and, Cheryl Jernigan (Bud) Bailey of Philadelphia, PA. 15 Great Grandchildren: David (Kelly) Richards of Naples, FL; Angela Richards (Shawn) Howell of Cumming, GA; Jason (Kayla) Whatley of Sautee, GA; Mickey Whatley of Blairsville, GA; Beth Whatley (Ryan) Deyton of Blairsville, GA; Amy Graham of Raleigh, NC; Gini Graham (Chris) Cullins of Auburndale, FL; Tim Graham of Clemmons, NC; Mark Grosz of Ruskin, FL; Lara Grosz (Shawn) Kilmer of Lutz, FL; Nicholas Bloomingdale of Austin, TX; Scott Phllips of Atlanta, Ga; Courtney Phillips of Atlanta, Ga; Katie Bailey of Philadelphia, PA; and Connor Bailey of Quantico, VA. 15 Great Great Grandchildren: Hallie & Carly Richards, Tyler, Thomas & Andrew Howell, Trey & Emily Whatley, Lydia Babka, Landon Graham, Gavin Graham, Vanessa & Ethan Grosz, Luke, Hannah & Noah Kilmer. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Virgie was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend. She was loved by those who knew her and dearly missed by all of us, including the staff and residents of Stonehenge Building 3, for whom she always had a sweet smile and a wave of her hand.
