Virgil Bonsey
March 22nd, 1927 - February 6th, 2012
Virgil Bonsey, Jr., 84, longtime resident of Salinas, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2012 at his home. He was born on March 22, 1927 in Aromas, CA at Grants Campground. Virgil was a member the American Legion Post #31 of Salinas. He was a proud WWII Navy Veteran, stationed in the Pacific Theater. He is survived by his daughter, Jackie (Rick) Boyster son, Steve (Audra) Bonsey grandsons, Randy Casey and Stevie Bonsey great-grandson, Kaden Casey his dog and constant companion, "Corky". He is preceded in death by his son, Robert Davis Bonsley in 1963 daughter, Toni Renee Sterling in 1995 former wife and good friend, Marion Frances Hartless in 2009. Interment will be at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery 32053 W. McCabe Rd. Gustine, CA 95322.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
