Virgil Kern Vincent
January 20th, 1921 - August 28th, 2007
Virgil Kern Vincent was born in Boonville, IN to Virgil M. and Tropha I. (Judd) Vincent. Mr. Vincent moved with his family to Hugo, CO when he was 12 years old. He graduated from Hugo High School in 1938. He attended Denver College of Pharmacy, and graduated May 13, 1940. Mr. Vincent married Marjorie I. Pugh on December 21, 1941 in Hugo, CO. During World War II Mr. Vincent worked at Rocky Mountain Arsenal. Mr. Vincent bought his first bank in 1953 in Kirk, CO. During his career as a banker he owned, The Kirk State Bank, The Erie Bank, and The Byers State Bank, and was President of two National Banks. Mr. Vincent lived in Kirk, CO from 1955-1962, Hugo, CO from 1962-1967, then in Eads, CO from 1967-1974, and finally moving to Greeley in 1974. Mr. Vincent was a former member of the Masons, where he held several offices. He was also a former President of the Lions Club in Kirk, CO and was very active with Boy Scouts of America in Kirk. Mr. Vincent was also a member of Society of American Pharmacists, and was the last surviving member of the Hugo High School Class of 1938. Mr. Vincent died August 28, 2007 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. Survivors: daughter, Karen Means and husband Larry of Greeley; son, Terry Vincent and wife Joyce of Greeley; three grandchildren, Matthew Means of Hayes, KS, Ryan Vincent and wife Jessica of Greeley , Lucas Vincent and wife Shelbie of Evans; great granddaughter Emma Vincent; and sister Doris Virginia Davis and husband Wilford of Denver. Preceded in death by: parents; wife, Marjorie Vincent on April 15, 1992 Services: Graveside service were Thursday at Crown Hill Cemetery Wheat Ridge, CO Interment: Crown Hill Cemetery Wheat Ridge, CO
