Virginia "Ginny" Rose Brockman Virginia “Ginny” Brockman, 67, a 30+ year resident of Chehalis, died July 30, 2009. She was born October 30, 1941 to Gerald and Lucille (Vangorder) Brockman. Wood County, WI. Prior to living in Chehalis, Ginny lived in Pittsville, WI and Seattle, WA. Ginny graduated from University of Wisconsin, Madison with a B.A. and from Antioch College earning a M.A. She is survived by her husband, Bob Zimmerman residing in the same house in Chehalis where they were married in 1990. Ginny taught at various schools throughout her educational career. She also worked with Lewis County CARE Services and WA State Dept. of Community Development-Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Additionally, she was self-employed as a grant-writer and community consultant and served as St. Joseph's Parish Religious Education Director. Hobbies and interests included writing/illustrating children's books, computers & gaming - The Sims, environmental issues, and social justice. Ginny was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, Chehalis, WA; and the ACLU. Including her husband, Robert "Bob" Zimmerman of Chehalis, WA Ginny is also survived by 2 stepsons; Peter A. Zimmerman of Arlington, MA, Michael (Renée) Zimmerman of Tumwater, WA; 1 God-Daughter, Genaveve "Gena" Webb of Oakland, CA; 3 brothers, Arley (Debbie) Brockman of Lincoln, MO;, Craig (Sally) Brockman of Tecumseh, MI, Dan (Ginger) Brockman of Grassy Butte, ND; 2 sisters; Barbara (Bob) Fink of Warrens, WI and Maureen Brockman of Pinellas Park, FL; 3 grandchildren, Quinlan, Teagan, and Mya Rose; her father, Gerald Brockman of Warrens, WI. Ginny was preceded in death by mother; sister, Muriel Brockman and her brother, Donald Brockman. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. August 24, 2009 at Claquato Cemetery, Chehalis.
