Virginia M. Carroll

Virginia M. Carroll, surrounded by her cherished family, entered into eternal rest August 26, 2023. She was 87 years old. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 11 am in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory. A visitation will take place one hour prior between the hours of 10 am and 11 am. A committal service will immediately follow the service at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Virginia was born December 25, 1935 to the late Mr. Ollie Goings and Mrs. Byrice Rodeheaver Goings in Atlanta, Georgia. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Donald Goings, Richard Goings, and Grady Goings. She was a member of Porterfield Baptist Church and enjoyed attending services when able. As a homemaker, she was quite talented in the kitchen and could whip up a good southern meal in no time. Taking care of others was the joy of her heart. Virginia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Allen Carroll; children: Julie (Austin) Stephens, LeAnn (Tony) Humphries; grandchildren: Brandon (Kelly) Stephens, Addie (Rob) Munro, Phillip Bailey, Allen Michael Bailey; great grandchildren: Ana Eubanks, Olivia Stephens, Andrew Stephens, Rosalie Munro; siblings: Kenneth (Betty) Goings, Tommy (Carol) Goings, Debbie (Craig) Wentworth; and a host of extended family, friends and special neighborhood friends.
